| That Japanese video is no where near the level of enthusiasm Coop had when he created that epic street video 4 years ago. He put thought and creativity into it. That video sited above is merely a collection of tricks not even syncd up to the bad soundtrack. Stay tuned for a video from me that's going to lay down a new bar for street videos. I hope to have something done by Wednesday. We'll see. |

| If you break it down into the realm of all other "X" sports, the Japanese vid was flatland. Street uses the natural given terrain and it moves. There is another nice vid from the Japanese guys where they are doing some sick rails and is more street but still has nothing on Coop's vid. I've always loved that vid and it inspires me to make something similar. |

I agree. While the Japanese dudes were pretty amazing with those footys and psychos, it wasn't technically street. They didn't do any grinding at all, though they probably would have if they had Heelys with grind plates. Coops video was cool because it portrayed a street heeler, grinding on, jumping off of, jumping onto, and spinning around on a variety of urban environments. That's what I call street. I would have like more flow in Coop's video, though. Although it's street, it's no less a montage of him tricking around on stuff than the Japanese video is. 'Course, the only way to get a video with real flow is to have a cameraman following along on something rolling, or with a steady-cam. hehe
Anyway, I liked both videos, but Coop's was the better representation of street heeling.
Looking forward to Buffo's new vid, too! I like all his heeling vids, and if he's trying to make a cool street heeling vid, I'm confident he'll pull it off. |

I wish I had something to transfer my old VHS collection to a vid file. I've got an old vid of me and some friends doin about a 20 min street session (BMX) through the city of Norfolk. It's uncut, unedited, raw footage but is filled with constant action. In fact, the soundtrack was made via the boombox in the trike blasting some Suicidal Tendencies. We had a cat rollin on a paperboy trike with a friend in the back basket holding a GIGANTIC old school VHS camcorder getting the footage. To us, street meant you ride and trick off any object in your path. There was no turning around... it was a straight ride and we'd 360 off curb ledges, grind on benches, and wallride any slope-to-building. We're talkin 8 people just touring the city. It was awesome and the footage is locked up in my crypt of history. I break it out every once in a while. It's also got some flatland footage and the greatest coverage of me racking my nuts on the toptube from an 8' air to broken pedal. (hurt for about 10 days!). We were really close to breaking out the golf-kart or the 4wheeler today and getting some 'street style' footage in the industrial park, but the weather got TOO nice and we Jeeped it to the beach instead.
I really want to make a sick street heely vid. Logan has the skills to do a tad bit of street tricking but I'd love to get some pro action on cam. If Heelys ever restarts the mall demos, I'mma have to hit up whoever comes this way to get a session started. |

eh i dont think the japanese heelys footys are all too great cause any four year old in the mall can run and lean on their brake of tehir lead foot but their spins at those speeds are ace, so is their crab-weaving.
like someone else said, the japs vid is nice as heck flatland but coops is plain out street and that completely pwns flatland because it needed alot more creativity, like how he turned a little hill alley thingy into a ramp to launch off into a backwards footy 360. |
