you can't youtube is a streaming site you could use a vid stealer to take the vid but not the song |

Or you could do the thing which doesn't help sue Grandma, and get on Emule or The Pirate Bay and pirate it. For protection use PeerGuardian so various malefactors can't connect to your IP. (Yes, the Quake server I play on is run by the same people.)
The legality is on the far side of "nobody cares", except for the carpet-bombing lawsuits (hence the need for PG), and except if you run a Emule server or something. With smaller, indie labels the morality may be a bit different, but giving the RIAA or MPAA money is not a moral act in the slightest. Not after they took an old woman who doesn't even own a computer to court.
If it weighs on your conscience so much, send the artist a three dollar check per album you pirate (or three dollar bills wrapped in some folded-up paper, if you think it'll get to them); this is around three to ten times as much as any RIAA label gives them. |

well, as i've told many people already, there are ways to download FLV's off youtube, and converting them to MP4, MP3, Wma's are all just a matter of extention.
and Mav, it's not illegal, the illegal part was uploading something copyrighted onto youtube, i don't believe there's anything illegal about downloading other people's "Home videos" off of youtube |

i use this vid stealer application that lets me record (like literally click the record button and it records as a mp3) from any site.
and to convert use free media converter.org (forgot the exact site, i have it bookmarked) or the bink and smacker |
