I haven't been around in awhile (new job... crazy hours) and thought I'd check in to see if the Pro-Series had been released anywhere. Logan's Torches are gettin a lil' tight and it's time for some new kicks. He doesn't heel as much these days cause there's really no motovation for him. He's the only one (that we know of anyway) locally that was even semi-serious about heeling. (Evan has never really been serious about it but he'll slap em on a goof around just for fun on occasion) Regardless... he still likes to go out and heel when the weather is decent. I don't mind dropping the nickles on some new kicks as long as he keeps wearing them.
SO ANYWAY.....
I searched and found the "Fall/Winter '08 Catalog" and peeped the 'sidewalk sports' division of footwear. Yeah yeah... more unwheeled shoes we already know about > no news there. BUT the way that catalog is broken out got me to thinking about the shoes. There are so many "Wal-Mart style" shoes in there with dragons and flowers and glowing wheels mixed in with Pro-Series shoes. Now this is just me talkin and we all know that whatever we say doesn't really amount to a hill-o-beans, but wouldn't it be nice to have a line of shoes that could be taken seriously?? I'm not talking about a single shoe, but a seperate line. Where is the 'series' that the "Pro-Series" came from?
SO ANYWAY....
I just think it would rock to have a casual line + a pro line. Not that it's ever gonna happen... I was just thinkin and haven't posted here in awhile and thought I'd just post my thoughts to let you guys know I was still alive.
I'm still alive.

Abso-smurfin'-lutely!
It was funny... at a Christmas-based brunch my family had, my sister commented about how nice my shoes were. I was wearing my Rumbles. Fact is, they ARE nice. They're also pretty durable (so far . I think Heelys could make some inroads with other markets if they make shoes that aren't eye-sores to those markets. For all the kids on YouTube that give me grief about how ugly they think Rumbles are, I get just as many, or more, people in real life who think they are nice, an are surprised that they're Heelys as well.
Where are the dress shoes Heelys? eh? |

Deez: good to know you're alive. So the other shoes in the pro series "series," would they all be like serious megagrinds, without fancy dragon graphics etc?
AMN: Just yesterday at work my boss commented on "how smart my shoes were" (was wearing the brown rumbles)
Makes me wish I'd purchased more pairs. . . they're getting a bit scarce lately. |

inorite?
I had a hard enough time getting a pair that fit me a year ago. It would be like finding hen's teeth to get another size 11 now. If I knew how much I would like them, I'd have ordered two.
what I don't get is why Heelys doesn't make more and more larger sizes of their styles, until they DON'T sell out. Don't make more small sizes, there are plenty of those, but obviously their large sizes, any style, are woefully undersupplied. |

What I mean is.... it takes multiple items for something to be considered a 'series'. Where are the others?? The blacks and the greys??? In my opinion (which again... hill-o-beans!! Lol) the Pro-Series should be the name of a line, not a shoe. Like Pro-Series Evos and Pro-Series Torches and etc and etc..... I would consider something called Pro-Series to be serious equipment/something the pros would use.
I don't know... you guys know how I just spout out my thoughts. |

AMN: True. Still some Size 11 Rumbles here in the UK, but again, price is a bit high for you guys and shipping on rumbles a little steep seeing as they're heavy items. Probably talking about $150 ish all in.
Deez: I get ya, and yeah, that's cool. I also tend to spout a lot of thoughts, often strange ones. |
