I sent this e-mail to the Heelys company. I dont think it will do much good. I just had to let them know, atleast i feel better lol.
Dear Heelys,
I love your product. There is just a really fun feeling about going from walking to smoothly rolling to back to walking again. Thanks for making such a fun product. On the other hand there are things that could be done better. You guys are pumping out way to many different styles to fast. On top of that you are not making enough of each individual style. HSL should put out fewer styles and make more of each kind, like the Torch, Evolution, and Grail. It is very hard to get many of these styles, especially in larger sizes, because the company did not make enough of them. So maybe in the future with some of the styles like the Pro-Series and Grind this and Five O maybe keep making more of each style so more people have a chance to use them. Thanks for the fun sport.
P.S Of course this is not a question; I’m just putting in my two cents on what the consumer would like out of a product. |

Grails arent hard to find because they werent made enough.
theyre hard to find because they were discontinued meaning not made almost over 4 years ago in 04. |

They have came out with Pro Models, a Mega/Express hybrid. These are available in Larger Sizes. You just need to find them.
I wear a size 12 and eBay has been my best friend. I found shoes at the store, but most of the time you have to custom order the shoe you need. It sucks, but at the same time it can be worth the wait you know.
But if you are planning on writing HSL, I would try and make it so they cannot snap back with an answer so quickly.
Assuming you sent the letter to me and I was a corporate head, I would simply state "We do" lol
And then it's not HSL you should be writing the letter to, but the shoe stores in your neighborhood. You need to write a letter to the dude or chick who does the orders. HSL makes the shoe, but its up to your stores to buy them.
Also, you have to look at your demographics. Are you in a College Town, Military Town, Suburb, Major City, etc. If you live somewhere in the middle of nowhere (like Oklahoma ) then shoes will be harder to find then living somewhere like New York City or Denver or LA. So you can't go to some tiny town asking them to place a big order of shoes that will never sell. You may have to do some traveling. I know one guy who had to drive nearly 2 hours out of his way to get 2 pairs of shoes (Toxics to be precise) at 2 completely different stores at the other end of the city. It's unfortunate, but it happens.
So I would do some research, find out WHY your area doesn't have the shoes before telling HSL to produce something they have already produced (because Pros DO exist) |

If I wanted to kill your email, I would have done something like this:
To Whom This May Concern:
Let me begin by saying I love your product. There is just a really fun feeling about going from walking to smoothly rolling and back to walking again. Thank you for making such a fun product.
On the other hand there are things that could be done to make one's heeling experience better. Your company has a tendency to pump out too many different styles way too quickly. To compliment that you are not making enough of each individual style. HSL should put out fewer variations and make more of each kind such as Torch, Evolution, and Grail. It is near impossible to get many of these styles, especially in larger sizes. This is due to shipping out too little large sizes which disappear too fast. So in the future with some of the styles like the Pro-Series, Grind This, and Five O maybe keep making more of each style so more people have a chance to purchase them.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
im goin outside
But in reality, I think its a good effort and your heart is in the right place. I would just revise the letter to more of the local purchasers and then migrate to the larger folk. You can destroy an army by killing the General, but you have to get through the Grunts first.
(btw, I am not trying to mock or lessen you, I am just trying to give you feedback so you can get more positive results ) |
