You're confusing wheels and bearings.
Speed Formula has a different wheel composition, oriented towards speed. Probably harder urethane. The ABEC rating of the bearings also affects speed, but if similar-class bearings are in both, the SFs will probably be faster.
Now the only real question is, do SFs make that clicky-clicky noise Megaverts make when walking...? |

according to http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/heelys/descpage.html?pcode=5087 their 86a on the durometer, as well as only abec 5 rated bearings (although if skateboarding has taught me anything, abec ratings dont necessarily always matter). i don't know the hardness of the regular fats wheels either.
was mostly wondering if anyone had tried them to see for themselves
also, from my experience that click noise comes from the wheel/bearing being loose on the axle and it clicking against either side |

You're quite right that a click can come from a loose axle, but the click Slicer was talking about is unique to megavert wheels which are 101a hardness. . . they click merely because they are harder and make a smarter sound when hitting the ground.
As far as I know, the hardness of almost all normal Heelys FATs and MEGA wheels is 86a, but hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Since speed formula wheels are currently only in fats, I guess the bearings might be the smaller 688s, meaning it's a bit tougher to find good replacement bearings - I tend to replace all my 608s with Bones Reds, but I hear RUSH bearings are also pretty neat. |

<---heard they were the same as abec 7's.
so if you cant find abec 7's go for speed formulas and vice versa theyre just a different design and the same price. |
