Having just begun my grinding career I was using the heelypedia to show all heelys that have a grindplate, and I notice there are different shapes/types of grindplates. The ones on torches and evo's look the same but the ones on Grind This and Rail etc look different.

So, I was wondering: those of you who do a lot of grinding and have tried the various types. . . which type of grindplate do you prefer and why?

And maybe someone like seth who knows all the heelys could make a little list of the types of grindplates and which heely they are to be found on? Smile

I prefer Rail plates over all (the one on grail, neo, fusion.)

I love(d) my Rails for grinding... They made me really happy... And alas, they served me well... Sad

Next up would come my GT's Though they are fat wheels, I love the shoe and how it grinds, don't ask me why...

Then for the bottom of the chain comes my Evos which I use when I skate vert...

Now if HSL combined the Rail plate with the Mega wheel...

Like we say in the IT field

If it makes sense, don't do it...

I'm pretty sure the military uses that one too

Yeah rail plates rule (actual rail plates not the plates on rails) they need those on evos or something they have like no lock on.

The only type of express i like is the one on rails and grind thises.

yeah, I've heard people talk before about sanding the "lock" off of torches etc - was wondering how this helps? Smile

rails have express plates id suggest getting a pair with rail plates like grails, neos or fusions.

having no lock on makes the grinds alot faster.

What about the grails? those look sweet because they have no locks.
