Couple of days back I made myself rather ill. . . I realised I had gone from driking my favourite tipple (neat bourbons) in shot glasses, to half pint glasses, to whole pint glasses (UK pints being 568ml). Whenever anyone asked me if I drink a lot, I could say, nah, I only have a few pints a week.
But yeah, last week I somehow got through a bottle of Southern Comfort, some Bulleit and a bottle of JD (I know, not technically a bourbon) - so I know how Johnny Cash felt when he wrote "Southern Comfort is killin' me I'm slowly chokin' in Tennessee" so now I've decided to knock it on the head for a while, maybe a few straight days lol.
What's your poison? |

I think hidude was saying spammers were here pet peeve, not something tahts her sick?
anyways what gets me sick is coke+sprite+sunkist and add a cough drop or too.
oh and those berries that grow on the bush behind my aunts house.
and beans.
I hate beans.
They make me spewey.
But my pet-peeve is kids on crappies. Whenever i see one on them, i really loudly say to anyone near me "HEY ______, THAT KID HAS FAKE HEELYS, SUCKS TO BE HIM, EH?"
*Says Eh more then a canadian.* |

Ah, I think I see what's hapenning here. The source of my confusion, and the reason I said "Eh?" was that I asked what alcoholic beverage people like, and got responses about what things they didn't like. . . I guess "what's your poison" doesn't translate well into US English? Hehe, never mind, carry on
Like several of my threads this one seems to have gone off in a completely unexpected direction, LOL
| seth1230™ wrote: | | what gets me sick is coke+sprite+sunkist and add a cough drop or too. | LOL - your own personal cocktail eh? Maybe we should think of a name for it and put it on www.drinksmixer.com hehe.
| seth1230™ wrote: | beans.

They make me spewey. | Mmmm, beans. I don't mind beans, but I don't like "refried beans" - they're the ones that have been allowed to go cold, then are mushed up and heated AGAIN before eating. To me they look like they've not only been cooked before, but eaten and spewed up before! Bet that makes your stomach go queasy?
| seth1230™ wrote: | | *Says Eh more then a canadian.* | LOL, me too, I had a friend who used to say it and it's contagious
And hidude is probably right either way:
a) yes, spammers can be annoying, and
b) yes, as you might have noticed *whistles innocently* I do tend to get verbal diarrhoea (US Eng sp?), but it's only because I am (as someone else once said he was when he first learned to heel backwards) "crazy happy" - in this case just to have found a nice place like this to learn faster - without you guys I'd probably still be heeling only forwards and only with my left leg in front and spraying my bearings with WD40
So, thanks for having me guys, even if I do talk a lot and ask dumb questions |

You have to remember that most of the people on this forum are under the age of 21 (legal US drinking age).
When stated "Whats your poison" people will translate it to what they dislike versus what drinks they like to have...
The number of people who would actually be able to post about their poison would be about 10, if that |

Back to the OT...
It depends on my mood. Rarely will I partake in a straight shot of anything. I like my booze mixed with other things. Sometimes it'll be a simple whiskey sour, and sometimes it'll be a dry vodka martini. I also like a good cosmo or lemon drop from time to time. Then there's margaritas. We were drinking normal 3-2-1 lime margaritas, until we were introduced to the Italian variety by Olive garden. It's like a regular margarita, except with a little less tequila and triple-sec, plus a couple oz of amaretto. No salt needed.
Note to the yung-ins, always drink responsibly. That means when you're 21, not needing/planning to drive for several hours (i.e. until the next day at least) and drink in moderation. I only have maybe one drink if I'm out and about, and that's after I know I'm not driving home, and if I'm home, maybe a couple drinks, knowing that I'm just going right to bed afterwards. I got no problem with people boozin' it up, so long as they're nowhere near a steering wheel until they're good and sober. |

| IVI4V3R1CK wrote: | | You have to remember that most of the people on this forum are under the age of 21 (legal US drinking age). | Hehe, wow, yeah I didn't realise the percentage of adults here was so low, but sure. . . here in the UK, it's not ideal, but most people start drinking by about 16 usually. . . usually under parental supervision (sometimes not). Except me, of course, I'm always the odd one out: I didn't start until I was 29, and now I think I'm making up for lost time LOL
| IVI4V3R1CK wrote: | | When stated "Whats your poison" people will translate it to what they dislike versus what drinks they like to have... | Sure. I guess also that there are many such phrases, like if we told a person from another country who had recently learned English to "break a leg" when going out on stage, they might think we were being mean, when of course its just a "figure of speach" which means "good luck" to most of us.
I do take care to explain some things I think might not be known in the US, but I have to be careful not to explain something that I didn't know was common there too (as I did with WD-40 - having looked it up I now know it was invented in the US, but since I get mine from wd40.co.uk I assumed it was UK made. So I have to be careful not to go too far the other way, and accidentally come across as patronising when explaining something you already know about, hehe, damn this world wide web has it's complications sometimes
I tell you what we'll do: from now on, if I accidentally say something that you don't know about, feel free to ask, and if I accidentally go into too much detailing explaining what something is when it's also common where you are, just assume I didn't mean to sound like I was talking down to anyone, as I'm a kind sort of guy and I never mean to upset anyone, although I do often seem to manage it somehow.

It depends on my mood. Rarely will I partake in a straight shot of anything. I like my booze mixed with other things. | True, I often like mixers too: especially bourbon and coke (i find neat bourbon sends me to sleep sometimes but the coke keeps me perky) and Souther Comfort and Orange Soda (tasty with orange made into ice-slush like a "slush puppy" drink (if you have those? If not, it's crushed frozen orange juice so you are actually drinking something flavoured and frozen, great on hot days)
But also I never really drink "shots" either as such: I drink it neat, but here shots tends to be drank more by the younger generation (meaning those who have recently started drinking, 18ish) to whom neat whiskey is too strong for their palate to appreciate fully, so to try to avoid tasting it they knock it back quick, which to me is a bit of a waste of something that's been so careful crafted and matured for so many years. To give a good whiskey the respect it deserves it's best to take a few long slow sniffs first to get the nose, and then gently sip small amounts, swirling each mouthful around for at least 5 seconds to get the flavour, until your the end of your tongue begins to tingle, and only THEN swallow, and wait for that fine after taste.

But that's one thing that confuses me: the reason I was so impressed by Heelyhailey's Heeling was that I thought she was about my own age, as on her youtube profile it says her age is 27 . . but someone on the shoutbox just told me H2 is 13ish? So which is true? |

You can't trust anything that has age on the internet, especially YouTube or Myspace. She's definitely a minor, but I don't know HOW minor. 13 is probably pretty close.
The funny thing is that Merlyn, who looks about 23, is actually in his mid 30's. I've only got a couple years on him, I believe.
But yeah, the overwhelming majority of heelers are yoots. It's us adults who are the rare breed. |
