lol. i just busted a pair of mine last week and they look like shawnypoos. they like asploded. xD

air bubbles are little shiny air pockets. you can here them go *click* *click* *click* when you ride. (:

i broke a pair at NTL practice and They took em from me Sad

and so i took aj's freespins.

i just bubbled another new pair that i got from corp. took like maybe a few days of extremely light riding. ><

While expirimenting with the Mega wheel, I think I found out why Air Bubbles happen

It typically happens on vert and its when you land back on, it collapses the wheel down. Also, when you skeet around on the pipe, it could drag opening for an air pocket

When your straight line ride, I have yet to break that pair but I can go through one in about an hour when doing vert

It may be more likely to happen on vert, since that is when more force is applied to the wheel, but I got a friend who recently got air bubbles just from usual flatland/tech/street or "straight line" use as you call it. . . . . as someone who's been making their own wheels i'm pretty sure that it's just the fact that there are two separate parts to the wheel (the black inner core and the clear outer plastic), which necessitates them being glued together - and as we all know, no glue is perfect, so eventually the glue breaks under the pressure and you get what looks like air bubbles - it's basically the same whiteness you see in sellotape or any other adhesive when it's pulled apart. . . it's just the glue failing, so it can happen any way.

Of course. lighter skaters (like Nexuiz or me) will not get air bubbles as often, and heavier skaters will get it more often - that's just the way it is, which is why I think one-piece heely wheels (like megavertz) are a great idea - they have NO glue since there is only one piece, so it's impossible for them to get air bubbles.

That being said, i bet if you give them enough stick, even a pair of megavertz will eventually be unusable maybe? Anyone care to share a pic/vid of some megavertz that have taken some SERIOUS stick? Smile

Megaverts are MADE to take punishment and abuse. Mine have eaten some truly hellacious wear- and I've gone through multiple sets of bearings with them- but other than some surface scuffing and discoloration, they're just the same as they ever were.

And I've got to be one of the heaviest people in existence who wears them, and my local skatepark is not-always-smooth lineoleum/concrete.
