One set of wheels is already completely bubbled, and another pair is slowly but surely going to hell after a single month of use.

Here's what causes it:

The inner core is solid, but serious pressure (e.g. landing on one wheel, some tricks) makes the outside (clear) urethane bend for a split second into a more elliptical shape. Whatever bonds the urethane and the inner core together can't tolerate the force, and the urethane separates, creating a pocket where air can seep in, starting at the edges and working inward.

It wouldn't be such a problem if not for the loud popping noise rolling on that creates.

My advice to Heelys: Forget the whole inner-core idea and make the whole wheel out of the same stuff. Why bother with the black inner core anyway? Do the bearings really need the black-plastic support or what? It's causing problems. Ditch it.

And you made a thread for this? We've talked about that tons of times on the SB...someone has to keep you old farts up to date, when you were just enjoying the joys of megas (when you first got your torches) dont you rememeber a certain someone complaining about his broken megas after 1 week of use? *cough* me*cough* then we had a long lenghty discussion about it and how mega verts were suppose to fix all this. Which is why i STILL prefer fats for everyday wear, megas just dont cut it.
