I'll try to use this thread to post links to new videos I post of me and/or my boys. Some of you already saw this latest one when I posted it in the SB. For all the rest, here it is:
Heeling at the Mall #1: I took my boys to the mall to get some good heeling in. It wasn't raining, but it's cold outside, and the mall's floors are great for heeling. Check it out!

Thanks!

w00t thats some pretty cool stuff. I also like the personal video thread... I'm going to pirate your idea, slap a copywrite on it, blame you for piracy, then when you're in jail, make my own video thread lol jk
Nice work though, cause you're really improving! |

I've done a couple videos since my first post in this thread, but you can find those after viewing this one if you haven't seen all my videos.

This latest one is me and my boys having some fun at another local outdoor skate park I found via concretedisciples.com. Nothing impressive, as usual, but should provide some entertainment value. |

Carving and Dropping In!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzgH5lwIsN0
Ok, the pipes/bowls are pretty shallow and smooth, but it's still their first time starting from the top of a pipe of any kind. It's great seeing them make that step from just rolling up and down to actually dropping in from the top.
I love Heelys! |

HAHA - Coooool.
I like the ending where the boys are just laying down after a good work-out.

@Merlyn, yeah, they did that a few times, actually. They said the curve is comfortable. hehe
@hidude, the older one can get that high as well, but he isn't as good at getting the needed speed. Now that they can drop in on those bowls, I think they'll have more fun the next time we go. |

"In Which AMN Fails at Dropping In"
A heartwrenching tale of overcoming fear and repeated failure. No thumbs up.

um.....yeah.....you're not dropping in the right way lol. You're trying to switch in the middle of the transition, which is death for a noob
there are two ways to do it
1. most ppl's way.....put your FRONT forward past the coping, lean forward, and roll your back foot in
2. my way.....put your BACK GRIND PLATE on the coping, lean forward, and put your front foot in.
the way you do it, it looks like you start with your back foot past the coping, which is bad news unless you're merlyn XD |

Hehe, that's what it looks like, doesn't it?
In reality, I was NOT trying to "switch" while dropping in. What I was doing was freaking out as soon as I leaned over, and instinctively running out of it. That first fall in slo-mo really shows it best. I fell badly because when I planted my other foot, it was on the wheel, and so I completely lost it because by that point, my lead foot had caught the toe on the concrete, and it wasn't going anywhere. After that, I pretty much just ran down the slope every time purely due to my self-preservation instinct. I'll try again someday... just not for a while. |

| Just start out small. The first time's the hardest. You have to overcome the fear of falling forward, which is exactly what you do on a halfpipe until you reach the transition. Try practicing by laying out a mattress in front of you and falling facefirst onto it lol |

LOL! I'm not sure how that would help. I can fall on my face just fine. That's what I'm trying to AVOID here.
Instead, I'm just going to work myself up to it with more ramps and ground zero. Of course, my main focus for a while will be flatland control, getting my backwards, 180s, reverts, and 360s down. |

well that's exactly what you want to GO FOR
if you lean back and try NOT to land on your face, you'll fall for sure. What you have to do is try to land on your face, but lean back just at the right moment in the transition. |

| No, you're right, I know what you mean. I just need to build my confidence before I try again. |
