Alot of the stores down here stopped selling heelys. Really the only stores now are Journeys which isnt receiving new shoes, just selling off their old ones, Journeys Kids which has a bunch of cool ne SMU's but only up to sz 6, and Robert Wayne who has a bunch of styles but only up to sz 8.
Well Thats only the mall, the sports authority tehre is selling off their left overs at like a huge discounted price, and the stores that had like torches for 29.00 dont sell em anymore. Finishline only has furys and blushes because they were the most expensive but now theyre hidden in the back and theyre not getting anymore styles.

| I noticed less around here as well. Is it possible that Heelys are a seasonal item, and stores are more likely to carry larger stock in the fall to sell for holiday gifting purposes? |

| When I went searching for mine I had to go to like 5 diff stores. Finally found them at Olympia Sports, but I don't think they were ordering more. Most of the stores said it was because the "fad" was over, but Finish Line said it was just because the new styles were about to come out and that's why they were all on clearance. We'll see. |

| seems like heelys would be a perfect summer item. kids have more free time to play outside, it's NICE outside, and heelys are perfect for that! maybe it is that new styles are coming soon. |

We should be talking to retailers and letting them know that people are looking for the Torch and the Pro Model.
Modells, Dick's Sporting Goods, Norstrums, etc.
That's my take on it.

Operation "Merlyn Saves Corporate's Long-Term Ass By Doing This Himself" apparently fell through.
Ah well, time to start emailing product buyers of various companies.
What depresses me is the fact that what's clogging the shelves isn't the kind we actually wear around here, or the kind we recommend to our friends. The first retailer to figure this out gets a cash infusion.
WC: Heelys is dumb enough to do "back to school sales". For HEELYS?! Wrong season! Hey corporate, put the Pro Model as your flagship of a massive BACK TO SUMMER sales drive, and see how THAT works... |

Slicer,
Since you already have opened a line of communications with Mike Staffaroni (the Heely's sneakers treat... rice-a-roni), you'd probably be in a good position to head this up.

If I knew Ricearoni had resigned, I wouldn't have suggested emailing him. In light of my error... OOPS.

@kain, street gliderz stopped selling way long ago, and to i forgot who mentioned that they might be waiting for new stock, i asked when the new models are coming in and they said theyre not going to get anymore.
then i asked if i could but the heelys shoe display off them, but thats beside the point. |

I wonder if they are going out... I would hate to say this, but no one can argue the point the Heelys are directed to the sales of kids and younger teens (hence the commercials of kids busting out of school or racing for tickets)
Then you have corporate media slamming on Heelys with places like Malls, Schools, WalMart, etc banning them, and Hospitals placing warnings out. Unfortunately, bad report spreads faster then good report, because a mom will tell another mom that her kid got Heelys, but then if the kid breaks his arm, that same mom will tell another ten mom's who will not buy the shoe for their kid.
On the plus side, Heelys have made plenty of money for HSL with their amazing take off, that they can afford to make a few more models to attract more clients. And then with the massive ammounts of hits on YouTube of people admiring Heelys and attempting them on their own, they may attract a new crowd.
Either way, I would hate to see Heelys go the way of the Beehive Hair-do and the Macarena, but unless it catches on like skateboaring or inline skating, I have a feeling its going to go out faster then Boy Bands... But you send me addresses, I will write letters. You say lets riot, I will make that place pure Manhattan "thanks Slicer n_n)
Thats my $0.98 less of $1.00 |
