I just got my son a pair of Heelys. The wheels slide back and forth in the wheel well, causing them to rub when weight is put down on them. I get the position right, and they just pop right back to the side when you stand down on them. I'm very frustrated, and so is my son. What is the problem here?

The axles aren't screwed together tightly enough.

I'm assuming you have the coin axle?

No, I don't believe they have the "coin axel". They are the Heelys, Atomic. I just put the wheels in, straight out of the package, no screwing anything. Did I do it wrong???
Sorry, I'm not retarded, I promise. lol

my little sister has atomics, and no, the axles are not coin axles. your axles have little holes in one end of them, right? HB has had hers since about january, and she's yet to have problems with them. how long ago did you buy the heelys?

I just bought them yesterday.
I couldn't imagine there is a wieght limit?
I even had them on, and same deal. As soon as I try to roll, the wheels scoot to the side of the wheel well, and rub. I may just return them.

no, there's usually no weight limit on heelys. maybe you just have some screwy defect pair. yeah, i'd return them and buy him a nice pair of torches. Very Happy

I doubt it has anything to do with the weight of the child. If its the problem im thinking of then i dont think theres a way to fix it. I cant really explain it but the way my fat wheels did that was by takeing the wheels out roughly.

they might have messed up at the factory and stuck an axle one size too big...just return them. get a new pair.

Well, he only weighs about 120, so I would hope that wasn't the problem. By looking at it, it seems like the axel should be longer. When the wheel is centered, there is about a 1/4 gap on both ends of the axel. Like I said, then the wheel goes to one side or the other when you put weight on it.

sounds like factory gave you too big of an axle [see my above post]. i'd just go get either a new pair of wheels, or a new pair of shoes. whichever sounds more fun.

when u put the wheels in and theres a lil gap from the wheel to the wheel well side ... then u might have to get bigger wheels to match the size of the well... or get new shoes preferably torch cuz torch is awesome!
