I just got back into a pair of Evos yesterday. I'd swear I was flyin. Okay - I got some new bearings too .. but I love my Evos.

Um... if you have no real experience, it doesn't really help us to figure out which is better. If i want to know the general consensus, I'll just look at the poll... but you're artifically inflating the results. |

Thank you, Parker, for that lesson on the unfortunate realities of democracy.
Having just bought Torches, I'd have to go with them, trying to keep the wheels out of the discussion. They just fit me better. Don't get me wrong, I love my Evos (or, rather, I hate them so much that I completely brutalized them, as in chopped grindplates and badly worn rubber over seven months of constant use), but the Torches are heaven on my feet.
One of the big benefits is that there are holes in the upper part of the tongue that laces can go through, securing it in place.
Also, the new Megas are buttery, silky smooth, like sliding on buckyballs. I used to be a Big Deuce partisan before I got the new clear wheels that come with the Torch. It's like riding on air, seriously. The wind can carry me, and I've got vid of this. My one-foot 180 is a bit harder, but I honestly don't care.
Evos rule, but Torches are shoes that you'd almost want grafted to your feet. |

| yeah, sorry about voting even though i don't have either. i should have voted tourches (because IMO they are more look cooler (having nothing to do with the performance of the shoe)) or just not voted at all. next time, i just won't vote. |

what!? Of the TORCHES? Mine have no holes in the tongue. And the laces are so long I actually tuck them into the shoe itself after tying them!
As for new Megas, yeah these are nice I think it's bearing quality, especially if you've been using a shoe for along time. There's nothing like a brand new pair of factory clean & lubed bearings
Show me pics of your tongue holes, though, if you meant your torches had them.

They're actually visible on Inline Warehouse.
(It shows up better on the 9117's) |

Hrm... are we talking the three holes on the tongue itself? I think those are for style, since mine aren't real holes that I can get the laces into.
But I also notice from those pics that they have the laces going through the black plastic pieces, which I don't. Hrm... |
