Propulsion Switch .. or learn to use either foot in front .. then you can plant and switch ..
Balance = longer rides .. not just speed. |

Here's one way:
1. put your front foot down on the ground
2. step forward and put your back foot down
3. follow the normal kick-plant routine for starting out.
Doing this every once in a while will make you gain speed |

Another way is to put all your weight on your back foot, then you kind of pivot your front foot left and right. The propulsion comes from snaking like roller skaters do. |

That's called fishtailing. It's pretty fun, and especially good on higher-friction ground like smoother parking lots |

I wish I'd had my camera when I saw this ... I saw someone throw a rope on to a bus then ride behind the bus like he was on water skis. He was on roller blades, but how cool would that be on heelys. |

In some of the vids it looks like Merlyn puts down his front foot, pushes off, then is rolling again in the switch position ... is that right or am I not seeing it right? |
