My Mega Rumbles really suck. Slow as heck and they don't spin worth a crap when I do the wheel trick(rub them together and they roll).
I was thinking about taking the insides of some of my regular Megas and putting them in my Mega Rumbles. Anyone know if that's worth a try or is it just the material of the wheel that makes it slower?
I'll probably have to pay at the skate shop to use their tool so if it's a wasted effort that'd be good to know before hand. |

| Since it's a safe bet you're past the break-in period, I'd say that you aren't a fan of ABEC 5 bearings, at least not the ones Heelys put in the Rumble Megas. I followed Slicer's lead and bought a set of Bones Reds from the local Zumiez, and put them in my Rumbles. They're GRRRrrEAT! Getting the Rumble Megas axles open is a pain, though. Fortunately, I have a vice in my garage, and so I put one screwdriver in the vice... with one hand, I held the wheel steady on that screwdriver, while I used another screwdriver with my other hand on top to loosen/tighten the axle when needed. |

I thought rumble megas were designed to be the best street wheel |

I've never done vert, but the rumble megas are great for street and the sidewalk.
As to Kain's original comment, mine don't spin free either, but I've never had an issue with rolling/heeling with them.

| Though I don't own Rumbles, I do own ABEC 5 bearings, which even after being broken in, do not like to spin as freely as ABEC 7 due to precisicion. Thats just from my expirience though.. |

In Fats, ABEC 5 and 7 are almost the exact same for me.

My axels are already open on all 4 of them. I have to tighten them like with Fats. I should probably use some Teflon tape.
Anyway, I've actually got some Mystery ABEC 3 bearings that are supposed to work better than ABEC 7. Maybe I'll try putting them in. |
