Hey,
Heelys just came to my attention and I'm looking for a way to travel to and from uni every day. I'm in Britain and it'll start raining a lot soon, so I'm wanting to know how well the wheels work on wet surfaces. Also, I'll probably be going up and down a big hill, so do you think it'd be easy enough to stop ok?
Cheers guys! Very Happy

Ignore Ogel916 Rolling Eyes

Anyways, in terms of bearings and wheel axels, it might actually damage your wheels. I've had some rusted bearings on my current Fleets, but some WD-40 usually fixes the problem. Worst case scenario: you use a pair of 40 pound wheels each wet season. Not too bad.

At least, I think that's the exchange rate. $20, if that helps Smile

If its $20 it would be about Ģ17 4 replacement wheels.
p.s I'm 4rm britain and haven't had 2 buy new wheels yet, but i would reccomend thet you avoid heeling on streets with lots of little loose stones

If you have a Big Deuce which takes standard-sized skateboard bearings (I imagine the Mega does as well), you can just replace those cheaply for about three bucks American per wheel (two bearings). Much better than buying entire replacement wheels.

Cheers for the responses guys and gals, I've decided not to get some Heelys just yet, but I might get some next summer for a laugh.

you need to buy bearings out of titanium or special steel, also itīs nice to have ceramic bearings they are the best....
first you have to take a look which bearings you have, there are two options
1. iso 688 micro bearings (small plastic ring) all fat wheels without laser
2. iso 608 bearings ( much bigger, iron ring) all mega wheels and big deuce

take a look at www.team-heelys.com or

In the UK wet conditions can be a problem at times, but largely I'd say it doesnt affect riding Heelys too much.

I've ridden Heelys about 5yrs now and many times in wet conditions, rarely have I found my bearing seize up. Though I wouldnt advise people use Heelys in wet conditions it can be done, just watch out though, things can be more slippery!
