A mega/plates model was in the works when i went. Wheels are delaying it.

I still see heelys in the mall.

I wear converse to school now (sorry HSL) they were getting to heavy for some chereography in drama class and such.

Okay, ph, that right there? That kind of thing from your mom needs to be put to a fast and inglorious end.

My mom finally understands that they're here to stay and she supports me, thinking vert is awesome. my dad thinks they are for younger kids but whatever.

Also for when people ask why you do, you shouldnt care what they think. Most of my friends that dont heel accept it mostly. People know i dont care what they think. Took some time to get things that way but i finally did. People start to get the message.

I usually wear them for comfort, so i just tell people that. Don't let other people down. That's all i can say.

I am 30 and in graduate school, I catch hell everyday I get seen wearing them. Everyone at work told me I'd give up on heelys after a week, but here it it's nearly 2 years later and I still wear them to work nearly everyday (and still get teased for it). If you like them, get over it and wear them anyway. Most of the teasers are probably jealous that they don't have them.

I hope heelys dont sink too much. then hopefully come back to being popular. I just put my heelys back on for the first time in like 2 months. I had forgotten how much fun they were. Now i might even take em to stores and places like the mall...somthing i hadent bothered to do before. Heelys arent deat to me atleast.

I'm seeing even fewer Heelys available now. Zappos is down to one-forth the number of styles it sold less than a year ago. Most every retailer has most styles on clearance. Many of the newer styles are even on ebay now. Zappos claims new styles are coming but are there any Megas comng? Are the Fats styles something anybody will want to buy? From the "Sneek Peak" post, things don't look promising.
Has anybody seen any commercials for Heelys? Any indication that someone will save the product?
Will Heelys even outlast Crocs? What do you think?

It's not dead, it's just dying horribly, like a third world cancer patient. I'd think "intentional sabotage" but if they were doing THAT, it'd probably be more obvious.

It just looks like pure, unbridled incompetence, and too few people and resources to do a too big job. The CEO is a paralyzed nobody, the new shoes are- let's face it- hideous, there's been no real news of any kind, almost all the new Heelys vids are from Europeans (a handful of Americans) because apparently the rot hasn't quite spread there yet, and the whole thing looks like it's in a slooooow death spiral. Nobody seems to give a crap anymore.

It's possible to revive it, no question- they just have to use money to create leverage. The whole "oh those damn kids running into people on those shoes" gestalt can be smashed with enough money and marketing. But they can't, because they don't have the wits or the talent to do it.

Sell the patent already.

Until last week I hadn't heeled in a couple of months (mainly because I just got busy with other stuff) so I broke out the Ninja's and good wheels... I was suprised that I still could do all the tricks I previously learned... I thought my muscles would have forgotten, but was glad to learn that wasn't the case.

As for the popularity, I think it's just that most people are aware of them now, so there's not as much of the "wow, what are they?" factor bringing people to look and buy. Naturally after that initial awe the market will be a little over-saturated so sales are bound to drop off... at least until something else brings them to people's attention again.

Looks to me more like Heelys is chasing money in other countries, and acting like "the fad is over" in the states. Big mistake, imho.
Aside from all the videos from eastern Europe, this one triggered this thought.
