I noticed one of the threads talking about how the 2009 models had wheel bays a little bit further forward than older models and that this might be easier for beginners. As someone looking for my first pair and wanting to use them for short-range travel rather than tricks, I'm interested in this. Is there a chart of what models came out in 2009? When will we see the 2010 models?
Also, does this mean the newer models let you brake with your heel more easily? |

| Generally people agree that having the bay set further back is better, so you don't catch your heel and brake when you don't mean to or (later) accidentally catch it when tricking. |

The wheel exactly on top of your heel makes the act of basic Heeling easier. I've never seen any (other than 2x2s) with wheels farther up than that.
The wheel behind the heel makes it harder (larger angle when you lift your toes), but gives more room for grindplates and is better for vert and a lot of tricks. Pro Series have it back there for that reason. |
