From what I've seen, the Pros are a tad wider and the back runs a little higher. There might be a comfort / movement trade off.
So if you want more comfort, maybe go for the Pros.
If you want more range of motion, then probably Torches.
They are very similar shoes. I think Torches was made in Korea and Pros made in China ... not sure that matter either tho.

Merlyn's got it.
Reversed but he's nailed it.
Pro series are tighter at the toe and the shoe is very stiff.
Torch get floppy after a week and provide excellent ventilation.
I wear either for vert and only thing i feel different is a slower grindplate on the pros.
Go for w.e. you think looks best. |

If you are bigger than a 7 or 8 you are probably out of luck on torches. You'll have to start checking ebay. There are some size 9 torches listed on craigslist near where I live, so check craigslist too.

Looks like we're officially back in the wilderness. And by wilderness I of course refer to things along the lines of Lord of the Flies.
History lesson:
Evos were the only mega/plate style of its day, with the brand-new wheel, the Big Deuce. (It had too many limitations to be really good for vert, first of which was that it was TOO SOFT, but most of us didn't know that at the time.) They ran out, large sizes first, and Ebay bidding wars ensued.
Then came Torches, which were bought up, and the higher sizes ran out first. Cue Ebay bidding wars, especially when a pair of Evos were found.
Then came the Pro Series, and although they DID make more large sizes of that, stores are running out of those as well. It's Ebay time for them, and even more Ebay time for Torches, and can you even find a pair of Evos anymore without supreme luck?
Assuming current trends continue I foresee people bid-sniping each other over both colors of Pro Series.
Rouge, if you're really a size 10 you should buy the first available mega/plate style you can find. Beggars and choosers and all that.
-Slicer, who has bought both kinds of Pro Series as well as extra Torches, for the same reason rednecks hoard guns. |

I think finding Torches for me will be impossible for right now.I think I' going to hae to wait till they come out with more Mega Grinds because...well I'm a size 10.I think Heelys were ment for people with small feet.Any way I will look very hard but if any of you find a site with size 10 please post it here or PM it to me.Thanks for all you help you guys. |

Naw. 10s arent that big, there are alot of people that just barley make the cut (size 12). And ya e-bay is the way to go. I had the same deal, where i find torch?? I scanned e-bay for a few weeks and poof! brand new 11 torches. Its just going to take time. Oh and it would be a grand idea to buy one size up. They are a bit small and you can grow into 11s from a size 10 (unless your feet are done growing) and get more time and use out of your small victory. YAY TORCHES

For practicallity I prefer Torches over Pro's for all the reasons listed above: ventilation, flexibillity, seemingly slightly faster grinds. For looks I prefer Pro's over all Torches except Toxics.
If you want them I can still get brand new 9116 Torches in any size up to US 12 from a shop here. Sadly it's UK prices + shipping, so even if I don't make any profit it will be at least $100 I think. So, if you REALLY want new torches, I'm happy to do the work of buying and shipping for nothing, to help out a fellow heeler. The way I've done it in the past when sending torches to Slice or Mav is you (or your parents) just paypal me the money and I go buy and ship them. |
