no, wd-40 messes them up.

wd-40 leaves some sticky stuff that gets dirt and grime stuck in the bearings. it's meant for rust not lubricating the wheels so it will make them more messed up if anything.

Pretty much any lubricant attracts dirt. It's a painful tradeoff. With sealed bearings you shouldn't ever have to, but how long do sealed bearings stay sealed.

I use Tri-Flow and make sure the shield goes back on all the way...

Yep, what they said. Smile

I use choke/carb cleaner: it blasts out any dirt and grit and evaporates off leaving the bearings totally clean and dry. Do it outside on the street tho because it's toxic and will stink up the house and/or kill your pets - and as I found one windy day it stings like hell if it goes in your eye. Very Happy Wash your hands etc too - it can be an irritant.

This should be enough for easy cleaning.

If you want the easy way just buy new wheels, if you want to be thorough, there are more intensive ways of cleaning them, but of course they're tougher to do, so I don't advise this unless you are good at it or don't mind risking ruining some bearings to learn. Wink
