Everyone's had to get hurt from heeling eventually. Mine's either when i scraped my knee up really bad or for falling on my rail when grinding and hurting my lower back, making it feel like i broke my butt bone.

Yikes! I hope you're okay.

My worst fall was jumping into the halfpipe and clipping on the coping. I tumbled forward and landed on my face, which I dragged all the way down the pipe.

As I laid in a pool of my own blood, I looked back at the trail of face (skin) I left along the whole length of the ramp. I remember thinking to myself "Damn .. this is going to hurt more in the morning than it does right now."

Suffice to say, I didn't jump in for little while after that.
(A little = 4-5 days.)

I hope your tailbone feels better.

All I can say is: ask me tomorrow Shocked

I guess I've been relatively lucky so far. . . fell once grinding and put my shoulder out pretty bad but it seemingly healed ok so I can't complain.

But recently I found a suitable free halfpipe only 10 miles ish from my house. . . and it's bigger than any other halfpipe I've ever dropped in on before so... yeah, I'm probably gonna have a few bumps, but hopefully not as bad as Merlyn's face-drag (ouch).

I will of course wear the pads and helmet, but yeah, you can't really do any sport without some risk, but I'm cool with that. Smile

Thanks. It was raining as usual, so I waited all morning for it to stop, and when the sun finally came out I slapped the pads on and jumped in the car and drive there as quick as I could, but one half of the pipe was in the sun (dry) and the other was totally soggy. . . the wood was like squishy. I knew it wouldn't be much good like that, but I didn't want to have gone all the way there for nothing, so I tried to stick to the dry patches but not really possible to practise properly like that. At the end I was doing some carving and the wheel slipped sideways on the wet of course. Caught myself ok, and felt fine apart from my favourite combat pants getting all muddy, so all good. When I got home I noticed my hip was bruised but that's all. So considering the weather, not too bad.

Anways, off to stick the clothes in the washer now. . . heeling can be a dirty sport Smile

my worst was my first week on Heelys - I had forgotten I'd taken out the wheels, made about a 10 foot running start, lifted up my toes and ya'll know what happend next

Hah, that's a good one! Smile I can imagine doing a single jump-to-roll without realising the wheels were out, but 10 foot? Surely you'd realise as you ran that the wheels were out? Very Happy

My first few months heeling, I tried to grand a shallow handrail, landed on it wrong, and broke my ribs. I couldn't skate again for a month
