If you had really strong leg muscles, but weren't a very fast runner, then with the right gearing that gizmo could allow you to run faster than usual
But yeah, it does seem kind of as useful as a chocolate teapot |

It is pretty pointless and dumb, but SOMEONE out there is thinking "OMG, must have". People are really stupid when you claim something will help them loose weight or be healthy, even if you are literally selling them bullshit! |

I guess I can think of one use for it: It aids stabillity while moving, since you can hold on with your arms whilst you walk or run. It's essentially a self-powered zimmer frame.
So, if you want to get somewhere on your own power but are old or infirm and might fall if you ran, the abillity to hold onto it might help you do the exercise you need safely. |
