OK, this is how far I've got so far with the Manual Practise. . . So far I can only do it on my right leg, which is generally the one I usually have at the back in normal heeling. I'm posting because I wanted to show my progress from my old "Footy Fails" vid, but I'm also hoping for some input on anything I might be able to do to improve my Footys.
Sorry the vid is sidewards, I have only a mobile phone that refuses to stand on it's end, and no editing software with which I might rotate the image.

One thing that I think MIGHT be a problem, is that on the footy tutorial PlasmaQrenades made for me, he mentions doing it with "a little bend in your knee" for the leg that you're footying on, but so far I've been learning with my leg locked straight, and bending the knee feels awkward, but maybe that's just because I practised the wrong way?
Another thing I was wondering about is. . . when footying, it sometimes feels easier if I'm stood up tall and straight (well, ok, just straight, I'll never be tall ) but other times it feel easier if I'm a little crouched, sort of in the "mummy/zombie" position, or even the "walk like an Egyptian" position, if you get me? So, for those of you who can footy without using the brake I was wondering which position feels easiest to you?
Thanks again. |

So, those of you who footy, do you generally do it with your weight-bearing knee locked, or a little bent? |
