ok so i love heelys and i want to be safe and wear a helmet and stuff. But none of my friends wear them and im nervous that if i need to wear a helmet and stuff they will laugh. Do you think i should wear one and be safe. Or do you think i shouldnt wear one.

It really depends on how you look. By that I mean picture yourself wearing a helmet then picture your self in a wheelchair not being able to move from neck down. Whichever style looks better on you is what I recomend you choose. But honestly I wouldn't wear it for just like all heeling. Like not when your just flatland. Ramps and Rails I have to use a helmet on though

Hailey is spot on.

You can get a nice helmet that will look cool on you. I like mat helmets (not shiny) - and they sell a cool camo colored one at the skatepark. Been eyeing that.

NO WAY. My metallic silver helmet is the pwnage. All I do is my stalls, so it's mostly my wrists, shins, and knees getting slammed up. I fell when I was landing fakie and threw out my hands to catch myself (stupid me, it was too early in the morning for me to be heeling) and screwed up my wrist a bit. Oh well. Thats why you wear wrist guards. I'm thinking of pulling them out from amid my piles and piles of skate stuff in my garage...

Laughing

I need one of those. I've been just avoiding tricks (e.g. dropping in on bowls) that I think might get me killed, but if I'm going to get serious, yeah, I better get a helmet. And some knee pads, and heavy palm padding, and maybe a suit of soft armor...

And then I'll probably break my jaw or something.

Those Heelys helmets look pretty nice...

I've got a bunch of wrist guards, none of them the slightest bit comfortable, however. But I'd rather get a pair of Torches than Salomon Gel Sliders. Even though they sound reeeeally nice.

People who skate vert and don't wear a helmet are plain out stupid. I don't wear a helmet, because most of my falls are on my hands, knees, and shins. I might have said that earlier too...

I have three heavy scratches in my helmet from two really gnarly falls.

One, I aired out and tried to land footy (manual) and lost my balance. I tripped and slammed headlong into a guardrail.

But I was fine.

The gashes are on my helmet, and not my head.
