I remember reading somewhere on here of someone who had big feet and for whom the label on the back of the heelys shoe's tongue was irritating/scratching, because they had to squeeze into heelys that were too small.
Even tho I have small feet I often find the label on the heelys tongue can be scratchy and annoying, so I was thinking of removing it from some of my heelys, but then I found this little trick:
Instead of tying the laces all the way up, remove them from the top one or two holes as needed, pull the tongue forward and away, and tie the laces one-notch behind the tongue.
Kinda like this:
Obviously the bigger your foot, the looser the laces may need to be in order for the shoe to still be comfortable. Plus, this had the added bonus of not letting the laces hide the Heelys logo's if you like to wear them proudly as I do. Of course, if you want to sneak into a mall with a "no skating" policy, just pop the end of your trousers (US. Englist, pants) over the logo'd part).
Using this trick I myself have successfully and comfortably squeezed my size 7 feet into a young friend's size 4s, and my friend who's a bodybuilder has managed to comfortably get his Size 13s into a Size 11 with no complaints. If needed, you can even undo the laces more notches and if you find the ends are then too long, use the smaller version heelys laces, which are readilly available. Hope it helps.
Of course, wearing the tongue sticking out like this may be against some fashion rules, of which I have no idea, since I am not bothered by such things. If so, then I guess big-footed fashion victims will just have to suffer, lol. |

I think it makes them look better b/c a lot of ppl do that with skate shoes, and it'd make torches look cooler. |

i tried that for a while but the knot gets in the way and hurts more then the tongue being itchy.
Another solution is wear socks that dont let the tongue touch you i mean if your wearing pants who cares if you wear slightly longer socks...
@kain, But skaters tuck the shoelaces into the shoe ive never seen a skater actually tie them |

I agree with Seth (and the world stops turning lol jk)
The knots bother me too much...
The thing that I have found to help me out with the laces aspect is to tie the laces horizontally... Basically, its a skater style lace pattern, but instead of crossing over, they actually go horizontal through each hole...
I'll take a pic one day to explain...
But basically, having it done this way allows me to open up the ENTIRE shoe, instead of just around the ankle/heel, and then I can ajust each hole custom for my feet. It gives better grip over all, and my feet don't die skating (just the rest of my body) |

-Steve | Wow, that's exactly what I was looking for, Thanks! I had begun to look at everyone's shoes at work and if i saw a different style asking them about how they did it, but now I don't need to go round seeming like someone with one of those foot fetishes |

Out here most of them do. There are some people who decide not to, but they usually end up in the mucky surprise of soda (the most common vandalism out here, causes the rails not to stick)
The only time I have seen the style that isn't laced is the checkerboard, but those are mainly for looks, and they just switch to an older pair of shoes when they actually skate... |

yeah at my skatepark (where its mainly kids) they either tie them normal or tuck em in but dont tie em behind the tongue (which is what i meant to say and probably didnt come up the way i meant) If my heelys have lacing holes instead of the loops torches have i almost always tie them horizontal and tuck em in, unles theyre like torches which you kind of cant do it. |
