Just checking in to let you know I'm still alive. Very Happy

Been away at the beach for a couple of days, and am trying to rest my legs over the next few days as as I was getting pain from waaay too much heeling practice, which is why I ain't got much Heely-related stuff to post at the moment, but I am still alive and will be back, so the forum servers should rest while I am away and the load is lower LOL.

I haven't learned any new tricks lately since I've been trying to perfect the technique on the ones I already know: mainly my backwards: I wanna get it as good as my forwards, no matter which leg i use or which shoulder I look over. Been trying to backwards shuffle - can do it one way, (left to right I believe) but not the other so far. Anyone else good at this?

And I was wondering, is anyone good at backwards footy? If so, it might be possible to do a really neat moonwalk. Very Happy

But I have some other news: I managed to get my hands on some brand spanking new US Size 8 Rumbles, in the golden "wheat" colour! Very Happy Of course, here in the UK they set me back the equivalent of $140 US (including shipping) which you guys will think is daylight robbery, but there was only like ONE store I could find in the whole United Kingdom that had them, so I'm just glad to be have been able to get my hands on a pair.

Of course at that price I'm thinking of putting them in a display case just to admire rather than to wear Very Happy But yeah, I can't wait to try them. Hope they are a nice fit because I was told to buy one size larger and I did (am usually about US 7).

Oh, and I also managed to find a store which had one LAST pair of brand new Big Deuce wheels - can't wait to try those too, although having only one pair and them being so hard to find, again I might have to keep them just for display lol. Anyone got any old big deuces they wouldn't mind selling me, so I wouldn't have to muck up my nice new ones? Very Happy (I smile a lot, but I'm serious, if you have, let me know and we can discuss a price) Very Happy

I'm still keen to get my hands on some fats, such as Heelys Reflex, mainly because I've never had a pair of true single-wheel fats and wanna know how they handle, and I really wanna get my hands on some Heelys in more bright and interesting colours: both sets of my Torches are dull black/charcoal, but we can't seem to find the bright yellow ones or others here, and many are exclusive to US stores like Journeys, which we just don't have . . . might have to beg them see if they will ship to the UK.

Anyhow, just checking in. Hope to catch you fine guys and girls again soon. Keep heeling.

Yeah, why aren't there any UK exclusives? They could have the Bobby, the Pint, the Daft, the Shed-Yool'd...

*runs, jumps to heels*

LOL, indeed. *tongue-in-cheek* Maybe American consumers should ask for the exclusive "Yoo-ropes," and the "Dubya's?" Very Happy

Being serious for second, if i can: I guess there's no UK exclusives because Heelys are a US company, even though they seem to employ a lot of third world labour to manufacture their shoes? Smile

One thing I've been meaning to ask you more experienced heelers: A lot of stores which list the features of their heelys to get sales give this as one of the features:

- Motion Control Device

Which I think they are suggesting is in the heel - What are they on about? You think they mean the soft-brake, or what?

There was some back-and-forth about the motion control device earlier. I'm still not sure what it's really supposed to be. I think it's just a very thin layer between the heel and the wheel, so people can press down somehow to slow down?

rocket rainbows arent exclusives, flywalk just had too many rainbow shoelaces and put em on the rockets, they still come with the normal shoelaces in the box.

anyways, i can go backwards on one foot, and yeah i did the moonwalk thing a few times in school when everyone was obsessed with learning how to moonwalk Very Happy evreyone said i was cheating lol.

I've got some old big D's too that I'm not really willing to part with. Same "problem" as H4L's. I wonder what would happen if I smoothed down the connecting part and put some lube in there...

Meh. BDs are too slow anyway. Razz

"Cheating Death" used to be the Cadillac of floor tricks. And it remains one of the hardest to execute well.

But AJ has aired-180 and landed into a Cheating Death. We call it "Taking Death's Lunch Money".

And its a thing of beauty.

Is that the name for the backwards footy? If not, what's a cheating death? Sounds interesting Smile

Just noticed something about my 7316 wheat rumbles wheels:

Bigger version

The bearings are 608s instead of 688s as listed on the Heelypedia for the 7316.

@anyone with 7316 rumbles: what are your bearings?

@anyone with any rumbles: do you have the 688s? If so, I think I might need to buy another pair of rumbles to complete my collection LOL.

Am also curious: if "cheating death" USED to be the Caddy of floor tricks, what's the Cadillac of floor tricks now? Surprised
