You know what most other forums have that would cheer up this place a little?
A "Jokes/Fun" section
I mean I know we could post jokes under general or off-topic (depending upon if they were heeling-related or not) but there's nothing like having a subforum to encourage happy friendly banter
So, whadda you say Slice man? Log into that ACP and add a little subforum eh?
And how about the rest of you - you think a section for fun/jokes would be good?
Another thing that most forum's I've joined/run had was a "News" section - I mean a lot of stuff can be put under general, but it can help keep the general section less cluttered, and keep the forum as a whole more organised so if you're in the mood for'serious stuff' or "upcoming heely meets" you got the "News" section and if you want lighthearted you go to "Fun/Jokes" section if you get me?
Anyway, Just a idea - Having been in slice's shoes before I fully realise it would need a little work etc. But yeah, something to think about, and it might help keep the general subforum from getting overloaded |

A little work? I can do it in seconds.
I won't, because I've seen what happens when forums get spread out too thin. It's OK for the locations, but other than.. well, YOU... people don't usually post enough for those things to warrant their own sections. |

Some forums are keen to get as big as they can, and get more members and more posts etc, but I also see the beauty of being happy as you are, a small, friendly place, so that sounds good to me now too. Thanks for listening
Approaching midnight here, so this is Merrie, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off |

Actually, having more forums than we have people for is NOT a good way to grow. It only calls attention to the fact that we can't fill it. Having five main forums with regular posts is better than having more forums with more distance between posts.
Reminds me of 2002, when I attended a job fair with SIX booths in a huge warehouse. How do you think THAT looked? |
