Just some picts - basic backside grind - but very important to learn.

The grind might be basic, but when you put it on the top of a quaterpipe, it isn't quite so easy...

Is that the same skatepark as in your videos?

Yeah its the same - Vertigo. But now that the main park is done (lotsa banks), there's going to be some cool vids coming out.

These kids are sponsored skaters Brian and Daniel. I think that they're some of the most talented kids I've even seen on Heelys.

They gotta fix that site. *raises hand* Techie here, I'll do it if your current guy can't...

Curiosity question since the kids might forget to ask it: Do they still have that "need to be 18 to travel" (and, ergo, really be part of the team) business going on for kids trying to join Team Heelys?

Yeah - we're friends of the family. Do you know them?? I've dog-sat for them a bunch of times. Their dog loves my dogs. Brian and Daniel are really cool - always playing rough with each other. So entertaining to watch. Reminds me of me and my bro when we were tikes.

They both Heely really really well. I can teach them just about any trick and they get it. It's amazing.

And you don't have to be 18 to travel if you're accompanied by a guardian. We did a huge demo in Mass. and Austin and Cody (they're really good too) were there with their dad.

I don't know them personally, just recognized their names from one of your videos "Next generation of Heelers" They looked pretty good in the video for a 7 year old and a 9 year old. Look like pretty cool kids.

One thing I want people to notice. See how Daniel and I (and actually Brian too) - we turn the front foot in slightly when we grind.

This helps for two reasons - first you catch the coping easier. And second, you get less friction and a smoother grind.

Just pointing out something that might help you if you're practicing.

man those kids are freaking awsome and lucky. I wish i could be sponsored by the heely company. Can i ask you a question. How do you get sponsored. Like do you write a letter or send a video? and where do you send it. Through the computer,mail? I hav eway to many questions! Please answer them or else...lol j/p

Send in a video and fill out an application found at heelys.com. you mail it in or email, I think there is email atleast. Or you could apply in person at an demo event. I couldn't do that since my nerves would be worked up, thats why I'v been working on this video. Oh yeah. and if this is unclear go to www.heelys.com and under team heelys (it's one of the things at the top) it say join the team. It explains it all there (address can be found there too)

I knew Brian and Daniel from church. They started Heeling after seeing me zip around. They'd always ran up to me before/after service and asked "teach me a trick"!!!

They are really talented (both playing level A little league). So I kinda took them under my wing and taught them vert (since that's my lot).

When my EMM asked if there was anyone good in my area, I was very confident in recommending them. Although they're a bit young, they're both good kids - responsible, courteous and excellent skaters. They affirmed by faith in them by practicing and learning pretty much everything. Sometimes I try to teach a kid and they're like .. I don't want to do it that way. Brian and Daniel are never like that. They try it my way (since it works), even if it's not their impulse to. They never complain about anything.

I took them with me to the CBS interview in NJ. Daniel is also in the TSX video.

If you want to get sponsored, practice a lot and put out a really good video (like Kevin Cobb). That will get you noticed. And its just fun to do. Don't worry if no one responds right away. It took Kevin a year before he got sponsored.

Finally, getting sponsored isn't everything in the world. If you love Heeling, you'll get good at it. If you only do things to get sponsored .. well .. doing anything would be a drag if there were that kind of price tag on it.

Yeah, I don't think I want to send in my first video anymore. The more pressure put on me the more i seem to start doubting myself
