I wanted to see more video of actual climbing. Did you have to go up rocks the hard way, or was it more like walking up a very large, very steep, very snowy hill? |

Its JUST like hiking.
On a glacier - so slippery you have to wear 12 spikes on each foot.
Uphill for about 5 hours at a time.
When its about 0 degrees out.
And about 1/3 less oxygen.
Carrying 60 lbs on your back.
Yeah . so kinda like that.
But if you're jonesing to see me climb technical - I did a 90 ft wall earlier today (just for you):

Nice. From doing a couple of (admittedly slightly smaller) mountains myself, I know exactly what you mean when you say: "nothing I'd ever seen could have quite prepared me for that first time" (seeing the mountain). That feeling when you're literally above the clouds and still climbing, your front freezing because it is below zero, but the back of your neck literally getting sunburned at the same time without the protective cover of the clouds.
Nice. |

Mt Ranier is some of my favorite camping! It's half way between my house and my best friends house, so we can meet there and have equal driving time.
