I think the most important thing is to put Heelys in a good light. Its important to keep it fun, but not goofy. Heelys is for the skating intelligencia. I needs to speak to personal style because it's part skate yet still part clothing.
Good shots of the shoe while performing tricks is a serious plus. Mix it in with full shots of the rider. Don't do all one or the other. Showing off your Heelys sez alot about your personal style.
Also, try to keep it original. I mean, its good to see some of the basics - 180, 360 and such .. but changing the places and surroundings that you do them is important. It should be an interesting video. Those stand out.
If you have unique tricks, then you'll get attention. They don't have to very original, but you can do it different by mixing it up a bit.
Grinds are a huge plus. You can use a clip of a grind and transition from any footage to another. But just be careful.
I predict that wallplants are going to be big this year amongst team members. In the Albany demo video, they were all trying to 360 off a wallplant. DFCooper nails it all the time.
Skatepark videos .. well .. its hard to make them unless you love to ride vert (like me). If you do vert work, remember to wear your safety gear. Not even for the video, just for yourself! If you do decide to make one, get some interesting angles. Camera angles where the rider is coming and going seems faster than ones where the rider is going from the one side of the screen to the other.
Oh - and don't end the video with clips of you wiping out. Save those for a blooper video. I have a video where I teach the other team members how to fall on vert. So I fall and fall and fall .. but it doesn't make for a good tryout video.
I hope you guys put out some awesome vids! I can't wait to see them!

Yeah being sponsored would be good just because I already killed 3sets of Mega Wheels they broke then one set of Big Deuce. Then with scisors I made some working wheels from the Megas but I broke to sets of those to. So I use a ripped mega wheel and a half working big deuce for my torch and in my rev Igot some Mega wheels from the torch I ordered from the USA.
The problem is that the replacement wheels Are really expensive and I dont got money too change them always but it is hard to practice without any good wheels.
And My Rev is all ripped and in a very bad shape so Im saving my torch. |

Yeah. I've already blown through my replacement wheels that I got in March. In the videos I posted today, you can hear clicking and creeking because the axles are stripped. |

Wow. Just.. wow. How does this happen? I weigh a hundred and fifty pounds and punish my Big Deuces relentlessly. I'm talking jumps, kicks, very hard lands, hard turns, etc etc.. and I haven't done much more than wear the surface down a bit.
Keeping everything lubed (I use a spray-can of bike lube, only a very small amount each time) might help against axle wear. |

Well, I land hard on them, and when I was learning, I kept landing on the sides of the wheels so they'd pop out. |

Easy first Im 170 pounds 6feet 3 inch.
I do street rails over 1 meter high going down very fast.(didint break any wheels)
Jumping in halfpipes triing some tricks(One pair of wheels here from jumping in)
Going down the hill with so much speed that (about 30 km/h just) I could get on that less deep slope. There my polyurathane get riped off and I caught my flight. (2 pairs here)
Practicing turns and tricks (one pair)
Going straight I dont know how(on pair)
Something like this. How it happens going fast on concrate, halfpipe, street rails kills the wheels. If you do it the aggresive way
P.I.:(or what:D)
ohhh and watch the picture at the end of my first movie. It is a three meter let say about 8-9-10 meter high jump. And it was in heelys. |
