| no offense to anyone, theres poser for every action sport. like biking, posers get bikes from walmart or stores like that, with cheap soft chains. in skateboarding, posers cant do tricks. in inline-skating, i dont kno, real inliners got loud baerings? are there such things as heely posers? i think not right? |

Hmm .. This is a hard question.
If you consider where all these action sports came from, then we are all not "original".
Original skateboarders came from surfing. And many surfers thought skateboarders were lame.
And if you look at a skateboard from the early 60's - they were horrible. Steel wheels, no bearing .. people would just fall all over the place. Remember, urathane wheels weren't even invented until the 70's. The Ollie wasn't even invented until 1977. Yes - so they went 25 years without the most important trick in their toolkit!!!!! Remember, no ollie = no kickfliip, no verals, no heelflip, no nothing!!
Its strange that skateboarders can't comprehend their own history. If you looked back at where they were 7 years into THEIR beginnings, they were a really sad ass bunch.
I look at people who say heelys are posers as ignorant. After the shoot, I talked to the skateboarders .. they changed their views and asked me to come back and skate with them.
It will take time to change peoples opinions - especially if we gimp and suck and have a bad attitude. Take your time .. get good on your own .. then you can represent the sport and people WILL respect you for your skill.

yea i live in Texas..dont listen to the skaters in this state..they think are are good but most of them cant even land an ollie...some of them are..but they dont yell poser at people..the skaters like that are the ones that suck...what part of texas were u in? |

no those arent posers. posers are the ones who think they can do everything all the pro's (merlyn, h2, the Macs) can do but really cant. theres some posers on the boards but if you want to see real posers go to youtube and read ALL the comments on almost all of merlyns vids... |
