hi all, i bought some heely's today (online) and i'm waiting for them to be delivered...
i'm heading off to college in a few months and i was wondering if anyone else thinks that it could be a good idea to use heely's to get around on campus. my entire college is connected by tunnels and hallways...it's 2-3 stories depending on where you are...so basically...i never have to go outside and i can reach all classrooms within 5-10 min. most of the hallways are slanted in places and most of them are also just concrete or concrete covered in thin carpet. (and if i choose to go outside instead, everywhere has newly paved courtyards connected by sidewalks and there's a great amphitheater w/ a paved path leading down to lake michigan.) to be honest, i got the idea of using heelys from "empolyee of the month"...i just thought that since almost everywhere i go will be covered by concrete sorta like the surface of the store in the movie, it could possibly work. what do you all think? i won't do it if it's just a bad idea or if campus security has issues w/ it.
thanks everyone! |

If you skate in a controlled manner, then no one ever has a problem with it.
If you fly around like a freak on roids .. then .. well .. yes .. people will have a problem with it.
Avoid pedestrians; particularly crowds. Use your better judgement. Walk when you have to; particularly when oncoming pedestrians approach.
Be respectful of everything else on the roads (or in the tunnels) and I doubt they'll have a problem with it.
If someone talks to you, just let them know you're doing your part to curb the green-house effect and our dependancy on foreign oil.
Oh .. and get yourself some gel-sliders.
Best of luck!

I think its a WONDERFUL idea. as long as we are careful. And you prob wont be alone doing it either. I have visited some accounts recently and there have been LOTS of buyers that are college aged. So keep an eye out in your quad |

| yeah the college is sorta small and a majority of the people there commute every day. since most of the people commute and aren't there at night, i was thinking that it would be an easy way to get to my girlfriend's dorm or to friends dorms etc. from mine b/c all of the dorms are also connected to the rest of the school via the halls and tunnels. |
