So, I kinda tried learning to go backwards by pushing off a wall but that didn't really work that well for me cause it messed with my center of gravity too much.
But today I found a way of practicing backwards that does work for me, so I thought I'd share it:
Find a very slight slope, stand with your back to it, get into heeling position and lift your toes. Also spread your arms out for balance.
Also I found that it is easier for me to do this if my legs are further apart (like back and forward, not side-to-side) |

Yep - I can see how that would work too.
Thanks for sharing!!

the best way to ride backwards is to get some speed going foreward, then do a 180 and ride backwards |

this is how i learnd to go fakie:
try a 180, stop. which foot is in the front? (example: left)
now stand side to side and put your right foot back (apart to the left) and push yourself backwards (with the left) while lifting your toes
hope you understand what i mean my english isnt perfect |

Also, make sure you are riding with an opposite foot stance than you usually ride forward. That's the easiest way to keep your balance going backwards. |
