The whole concept of online voting is silly.
I was going to make sure she won, and yes I can do that with little-known contests. Unless one of the other contestants had a botnet/4chan/mass popularity on their side or something, there wasn't any real competition to begin with. I didn't have to whip out the whole proxy horde (Hello, TOR!); she won the voting with extremely little help from me.
But pretending to have a contest, and then just deciding someone else completely while ignoring the first-place winner on votes? That's just weak. Most places (like Oprah's contests and Diebold voting machines) just rig the votes internally. |
