I hate writing bad news because I don't like to feel like I'm bringing anyone down, but I feel I got to explain:
I was trying to learn Footy 360 recently and I messed up the trick. I was wearing full pads and helmet (I force myself to for new tricks) but when I was half way round I accidentally caught my heel and I fell backwards and landed hard on concrete and it hurt my back...
Not sure what's wrong yet and I wasn't going to mention it because I'm used to getting pains and if I just wait a while they usually they go away by themselves, but this is still hurting so I think I might have to try resting up for a while to let it heal.
It's kinda depressing because my interest in Heelys was on the up again and I was enjoying it and now I have to take it easy.
If it doesn't get better I will of course go see the doctor because I know back injuries is not something to be taken lightly etc.
Anyway, just thought I'd better let you know what's hapenning with me so you understand if I ain't as active for a little while. I still plan on getting back to fighting form and being here etc as much as I can.
As AMN wisely says:
Here's hoping you stay healthy, happy, and heeling. |

Aww, thanks people... the good wishes mean a lot to me right now.
Got an appointment to see a specialist about it soon, so hopefully that will help.
edit: weird, I posted this AFTER Merlyn's post - and it appears here?
But thanks for the happy thoughts: as always, I will do my best to always be a Merry (happy) Merrie. |

Whoa!! You & Mav in the DL?!?
S-U-C-K-S!!
I hope you get better soon. Remember .. immobilize and rest first.
Heal.
Heal.
Heal.
Then you'll be weak (from inactivity) .. next .. stretch. Gain back flexibility and range of motion before exercising.
Then ..
Heel.
Heel.
Heel.

Or .. achieve all you can .. then retire before you get permanently injured.

... Like Me
Dude... That blows... I can totally feel your pain... Not quite in my lower back. More around my fibula... and the Tibia...
But dude, if your back is no bueno fish taco, see a doctor. Not only for your health, but they give you nice pain killers. And the cool thing is that in the UK, diamorphine is legal!!! Which means that you won't care about your back, just happy that you are in a Herion induced, euphoric coma
But, if you're not going to see a doc, sit on some ice, take it easy, and within no time you'll be back and up to your old tricks (hahaha pun) |

Haha thanks man. Yeah, I went to see a doc, and he gave me the technical explanation of what was wrong, but suffice it to say that it basically just means my back is going to hurt for at least a few months, maybe longer depending on what I do. What hurts most is just sitting, which sucks because I like to sit (PC, TV, Car, etc) but sporting activities risk making it worse, so I have to lay off the heeling a bit, but I can get in a sneaky bit now and then as long as I'm careful not to put strain on my back (so no handplants LOL).
So yeah, the doc thinks it will get better in time, and I just need to be extra careful not to fall on my ass a lot. |
