Well I've been doing this for less than a year so I'm no expert, but it sounds like the bit you're talking about is just the polyurethane rolling surface (as opposed to the core or bearings/axles/spacers), so if you're just trying not to get the bearings wet, just use a mildly damp cloth and be careful. Would that not do the trick?
If you need to dislodge really ground in dirt, use something like choke and carb cleaner (but it's toxic so take care not to spray it on yourself or any pets you like).
What I want to know is how you managed to type that "OK" without the formatting codes working? See, when I try it, it goes bold like it should. |

i use to think the wheels have to stay shiny.
they dont, it's useless to try and keep em clean. |

unless you had big deuce (which are more porous) you shouldnt worry about it. the wheels dont leave dirt back (once theyre really used theres like little pores on the wheels where the dirt stays i guess) and they dont make scuff marks. if you clean them too much though youll never let em build up grip so its easier to slip anywhere its rainy. |

This is why the Rumbles have grooves on them. |
