Sucks
How old is he? Such a pity there aren't a wider range of sizes yet. . . . maybe one day tho if HSL does well they will make some: something to look forward to, and another reason to keep buying Heelys for? |

Okay, this is getting old.
Heelys needs some sort of rescue plan for this. An extremely limited set of Size 13/14 Pros, whatever. |

And so by the time he's an adult, he'll be size 15 at least.
Siiigh. |

Jeebus!! Not to be harsh... but with feet that big, I'd say forget wheels and add floatation devices cause they aren't shoes anymore >> they're boats!!! Lol.
Honestly though... how many people with feet bigger than 12s are really going to buy Heelys?? Not saying they aren't out there... just don't think it would be cost effective to produce them. |

No offence to those who do have size 13+ feet, but I'd guess Deez is spot on about why Heelys don't make many sizes above 12: the number of people (currently) with feet that required them would make getting the numbers for mass production tricky.
That said tho, like human height, the size of feet seems to be something that is getting larger and larger: You can see it quite clearly it if you look at really old houses in England: I mean ones like thatched cottages, 500-1000 years old. . . often the door to get in is like 4 foot (even a modern 9yo usually has to duck) and the roof inside is crossed with beams not much higher, so even I would always be banging my head. Naturally as height increases, so probably will average foot size etc to match.
So, sooner or later, when the numbers of people needing them makes mass production "economically viable", the larger sizes will start to become mainstream.
Then again, there's always going to be some people who are way larger than normal sizes, who will have trouble finding things in their size. But then again, us humans seem to value size LOL - seriously, I've heard "short" or "small" be considered derogatory or bad somehow when it comes to height. Personally I enjoy being small, but of course I realise a guy who is much larger than me will be a better basketball player.

Of course this would mean people with size 13-14 feet have less choice sadly, but that's probably unavoidable without Heelys bankrupting themselves to make shoes they might not sell enough of to break-even. |

Has he tried taking out the insoles? It would add almost a whole size 10 his 12s. And what deez said is way true. Puting megas in a size 14 shoe would be a bit awkward looking. |

I'm a size 13 who squeezes into 12's. I just take out the insoles and make the laces extremely loose. Even then its a stretch.
And unfortunately, HSL will never tailor to the big kids. Oddly enough they make shoes for 2 year olds, but I guess thats the market they tailor to. Like someone said up there, how many adults Heel. Then take that number and see how many of those adults are size 12+. The number is going to be tiny, so tiny that even deticating one pair of shoes to go up to that size wouldn't pay for itself.
Now, the one thing that I would do if I was HSL would be to BECOME A RETAILER. That is the one thing I never understood, why you cannot buy Heelys from Heelys. You always have to go through somewhere else.
Now I guess its just me saying this, but wouldn't HSL make MORE money if they cut out the middle man. I mean, all they would have to do is match the price their 3rd party retailers are selling the shoes at, then they would be making more profit. Then they can throw a couple of Heelys.com exclusives, jack the price, we will buy them, and then BAM, HSL gets back into the game.
IDK though, I'll be surprised if Heelys makes it to 2011... |

Retailers don't like factory-direct sales cutting into their business. If Heelys went into the retail market, their retailers would go OUT of the market, and then the only place you could buy Heelys would BE Heelys.
I think Sketchers is going to buy them up sooner or later at this rate. Or maybe just buy the patent and cut the rest off like so much dead weight... |

Think sketchers already did. I was skating by the sketchers outlet in my mall and on the window they had cyclones and hurricanes in kid sizes for 29$. |
