Does anyone think sumo-suits be useful for preventing hurts whilst teaching older beginners to grind? I know some adults who are interested but are put off by the prospect of painful falls, which I know from experience you can get even WITH full pads and helmet.

So do you reckon these would protect you from falls without restricting movement too much? On a cold day of course, otherwise you'd sweat to death I imagine? Smile

LOL if you try it, post video! I imagine it would restrict movement too much. But I've never been in a sumo suit!

Yeah, I imagine for normal heeling or the simpler tricks like switching it might be a trouble since it might make it difficult to have legs close together, but since for straight frontside grinding on a rail legs are best kept apart for easy balance, I was thinking it would be ok? Smile

... please tell me you were kidding to make some drastic point lol

I would think a sumo suit (regardless of the padding) would restrict TOO much causing the possibilty of injury instead of preventing it. You must ask yourself:

Quid Pro Quo

LOL, I know what you mean, it's just that I've seen people running around and wrestling in them etc, and even when they're thrown down hard they just bounce. I'd just love to be able to have that level of protection on the rail, but yes I suspected it might not be ideal. Very Happy

Alternatively you can just eat a huge load of cheeseburgers and get a sumo suit that doesn't go away.
