Wait... are Gelatos a joke here? I thought people liked them. To me, these are the same concept, just with pastels for a more girly feel. I don't see how these are any more funny than Gelatos.

That said, *I* think Gelatos are atrocious looking, and these are just as bad. But, there's no accounting for taste. A lot of people like something specifically because other people think it's ugly. I bet these sell as well, or better, than Gelatos.

About the only people who should wear Gelatos are DeezUU with his matching VW.

I think they're silly-looking, pure and simple. I'm sure people will buy it, for whatever reasons people buy silly-looking things. I'm not saying it's "bad"- I generally don't apply that word to Heelys with functioning wheels.

But selling them as boys' shoes? I dunno. Maybe if your boy has a unique fashion sense or a flair for the outrageous...

I'm another guy who'd wear 'em. Not sure whether I have a unique fashion sense, since I don't follow fashion, I just do what I like, which essentially is probably the opposite of fashion.

If I like something, I listen to what other people say, then I do it anyway. Very Happy And (at least in my case) it's not because it looks silly, but because as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't - but yeah, I guess some people might try to "look silly" on purpose, respect to them I say, for having the strength of character to do that, to question everyone else's idea of "how it should be." Smile

We need people like that with the strength to challenge the mainstream view. If we didn't we'd still be accepting the decree that the earth was flat, or burning witches at the steak. Very Happy - In fact, when I think about it, if history has shown us anything, it's probably that the majority is usually in the wrong. Laughing

Take Heelys in general for instance: look at all the haters on Youtube. So, according to a lot of people, adults wearing Heelys is "silly" - but we're going against that because it's simply what we like, and nobody else should tell you what you can and can't like. Same goes for these shoes I guess. Sure, they may get a lot of haters, but if someone likes them then who's to say they shouldn't just because of how they look. Smile

In an ideal world boys (and girls) should have enough confidence to buy and wear whatever they want whether it's marketed as a "boys" brand or a "girls" brand, if that's what they like. Smile

But then we're talking about "looks" here, which is (of course) entirely subjective.

They were among the really colorful nike's in my journeys and the journeys lady said theyre only made up to sz 3 so that means fats onlllyyy. anyways @amn, theyre a joke to alot of people but not to everyone on here in general, for example some of us call anything ugly gelato like.

Man, only up to size 3? that sucks. Well, I guess that's another sale HSL has lost for a stupid decision, LOL. Let's hope they wise up in the future and start making more models in more sizes.

Yeah, like I said, when it comes to looks, everyone has their own preference, so that's cool. Smile

From our perspective, yes.

From HSL's perspective, there has to be a cutoff involving what enough people will actually buy.

My favorite pair of shoes looked a lot like that when I six. So there's a market out there!

I do not understand it... I really do not understand...

I mean, I can kinda understand that a small percentage of people will buy them... but come on now... most stores have Gelatos still... So lets make another shoe with a different color scheme... Good one HSL...

I'm not downing the shoe, but I am downing the intelligence that is put behind making the shoes... Look at these shoes:

Rails - Grind This (Black) - Grind This Red
Furys - Ninjas - Typhoons

They redesign the same shoe just with different colors. The new shoes (dragon, grafitti stuff, etc) seems to be selling more because some kid isn't going to want the same pair of shoes he just bought.

In my opinion if HSL wanted to make some money MAKE DIFFERENT SHOES. Don't just color the same shoe differently...

Typhoons have fats and the are an entirely different design. Fury is a Store exclusive so they just give it a different name, same for TKO. Store exclusive colors are usually just given a different name.
