I know that now and again people have trouble finding the model of Heelys they want in a big enough size, and was thinking it would be useful to have a thread where people post all the tips and tricks for overcoming this issue? Smile

I realise there's another topic on this which I started, but thought it best to start a new one that would hopefully be a more concise, useful guide? Smile

All of the following methods may help improve comfort, or may reduce it: it's just a matter of experimentation depending on the shoe and your individual feet, so there is no quick fix, but hopefully some of this will help:

Stretching:
One of the things I do to fit into smaller Heelys is, when you buy the shoe, first remove the laces, then stuff it full of crunched up newspaper until it's absolutely packed tight. Then lace it up as tight as you can and leave it for a day or two: this seems to stretch out the shoe a little which should save your foot from doing some of that work. Obviously if you're very strong or have a shoe with weak stitching you might have to be careful not to rip the shoe, so I suppose I'd better say "Do this at your own risk." That said, so far this technique has worked for me without any problems. Smile This is basically the same thing that happens to your heelys that makes them more comfortable over time: your feet stretch them out: this way you don't have to endure the discomfort as much yourself Smile

Insoles:
Another tip I've heard people mention is removing the original Heelys insole, either to be replaced with a slimmer one, or no insole at all.

Laces:
Obviously it can help to lace loosely, and you don't have to use all the eyelets/lugs.

Tongue:
Can be worn sticking out through the laces at some point if necessary, to give a little more room Smile

Shoe-horns:
Guess they might be useful on the models which don't have that loop on the back that you pull them on with? Smile

Any more tips? Smile
