If anybody has a vid or anything plz post it i really wanna see.. thankyou.

most of the time we have to plant our feet to grind or jump on things, but if it's low enough, you can go right off your wheels (prohop)

In theory i'd say so, not going by my heely knowledge (I don't have that much yet) but just by my knowledge of the laws of physics and momentum - the more upwards force you get from your legs, the higher you *should* be able to go - but as you know it's hard to do it without your toes wanting to go down - maybe practise jumping off your heels without your wheels in? Smile

P.S. - I like that you used an ASCII graphic as a sig - very old school Smile - I used to be into those years ago, and then the coloured "ANSI" type ones too Smile

thx, i love drawing stuff with my keyboard.

Today i was heeling in a park with my skater friend and i watched him practiced ollie on his board then an idea jumped right into my head. I tried doing heelys ollie by jumping wit the first foot but it didn't work so I tried it with my other foot and it did work! so I placed the left foot forward then i switch and lift the right foot up then my left foot follows so I'd be in the air for a bit before landing on my left foot again. I'll post a vid of me attempting it(cant say doing it yet cuz i can only do it like 1 out of 10). Do you guys do the same thing when you try to jump off wheels? cuz i tried to hop like the kid in that vid and man i sucked like squid shit, could only jump like have a cm.

I don't know much about Ollie's yet because I've never really tried them much but one thing I notice is it looks like you're riding the brake a little, which can wear them out quick - hard to see tho so I might be wrong.

At a couple of points in the vid it looks like you almost do a 180 or 360 - if so, that's damned good for someone who's only been heeling a couple of weeks - took me about a month or two to get the hang of them - you must be one of them young 'uns with the excellent balance eh? Smile

Thankyou! that's very encouraging, so far i can only do 360,crabwalk, a really tiny footy (like 2 feet long), going backward slowly, and shuffle. i started grinding like a week ago and found it really hard to balance, the longest i could go was only like 4 feet.

and yeah for the hop i still touch the ground a lot but i'mtrying not to.

Jeeze, that's better than I thought. I can't crabwalk yet. Then again, I haven't practised that one much: I've been concentrating on other stuff, but I get the feeling that even when I do begin properly trying to learn crabwalk, it will take me longer than two weeks - I can't even stand still without wheels with my body in the crabwalk shape - my leg just don't like it Very Happy

Keep up the good work Smile

Grinding takes practice, especially if you haven't done it before... You are accelerating your body in a way it wasn't mean to go; sideways (unless you're doing cheesegraters, but that then takes foot placement)

A tip for doing all grinds is to bend your knees and land directly on top of the rail.

Its kinda hard to do it on an angle surface (like park bench and raised ledges), but it works on curved rails...

Either way, don't give up. Grinding, in my opinion, is one of the best things heeling (and any other aggressive sport) has to offer. Nothing feels better then to do a grind for about 3 seconds...
