Just curious as to how others react?

People used to give some weird looks when I showed up at skate parks. Like .. WTF is that guy doing? But the murmuring usually it stopped when I hit my first grind. Skateboarder even smack their boards when you hit double rail-flips.

How do you react when people get all down on your Heelys?

You know enough impressive tricks to wow the locals into, if not praise, at least silence. Imagine showing up there as a newbie with no skills at all, and the only adult, sometimes the only person, the locals have ever seen wearing them. The only thing I could really do was bowl carving, and even then the pavement and I were having regular makeout sessions with gravity as the matchmaker. I got enough weird looks to fuel a zombie movie. Went down there alone except for a lone bicyclist, and he literally did not grasp how I could possibly be doing that until I showed him the wheels.

Of course, after being down there enough, I've got some respect and I'm called Heelys. Ask a local skater if they know Heelys and they'll reply with "Yeah, I know him." Eight year old kid comes down to the skate park with them on and instantly gets the name "H2". And we're all still waiting for somebody good to come out of nowhere and show me up...

As for the original question, I don't react, which is what earned me the respect.

i just keep rolling i dont really care if they keep going at it i just do a trick and they usually shuddup.

I can't heel in skateparks in my area so I make do with benches and stuff. I haven't really had a chance to get vert in. I do more street tricks, stalls and stuff like that. Can you get onto Team Heelys with no vert experience? But usually when me and my sister heel in our area, people stop to watch. No one mutters or anything. But I hate when you've got quite a few people watching you, you bust this nice trick, and when you go to land it, your feet slip out from under you. Then people look at you like you're a moron. *sigh*

You can definitely get sponsored w/o vert - vert isn't for everyone. But it is mighty fun for those who answer the call.

well when we are at a skate park skaters and bikers usually hollar and say we're on heelys and we shouldnt be there but we usually ignor them and show off some moves. But the youngest of team heelz(heely monster) well he's 6 and we went to a school basketball game and like 3 3rd graders(he's in kidergarden) were calling him heely and saying i love you and your skating! i was like wtf he's like 6!
